(1)刀具材料選擇 因加工不鏽鋼零件時切削力大、切削溫度高,刀具材料應儘量選擇強度高、導熱性好硬質合金.
對於此類材料淬火零件的加工,可以采用CBN(立方氮化硼)刀片,CBN硬度僅次於金剛石,硬度可達7000~8000HV,因此耐磨性很高,與金剛石相比,CBN突出優點是耐熱性比金剛石高得多,可達1200℃,可承受很高的切削溫度.此外其化學惰性很大,與鐵族金屬在1200~1300℃時也不起化學作用,因此非常適合加工不鏽鋼材料.其刀具壽命是硬質合金或陶瓷刀具的幾十倍.
(2)刀具幾何參數 刀具幾何參數對其切削性能起重要的作用,為使切削輕快、順利,硬質合金刀具宜采用較大的前角,以提高刀具壽命.一般粗加工時,前角取10°~20°,半精加工時取15°~20°;精加工時取20°~30°.主偏角的選擇依據是,當工藝係統剛性良好時,可取30°~45°;如工藝係統剛性差時,則取60~75°,當工件長度與直徑之比超過10倍時,可取90°.
(3)前刀麵刃磨時粗糙度值要小 為避免出現切屑粘刀現象,刀具的前、後刀麵應仔細刃磨以保證具有較小的粗糙度值,從而減少切屑流出阻力,避免切屑粘刀.
(4)刀具刃口應保持鋒利 刀具刃口應保持鋒利,以減少加工硬化,進給量和背吃刀量不宜過小,以防止刀具在硬化層中切削,影響刀具使用壽命.
(5)注意斷屑槽的磨削 由於不鏽鋼切屑具有強韌的特點,刀具前刀麵上斷屑槽修磨應合適,從而使切削過程中斷屑、容屑、排屑方便.
(6)切削用量的選擇 根據不鏽鋼材料特點,加工時宜選用低速和較大進給量進行切削.
(7)切削液選擇要合適 由於不鏽鋼具有極易產生粘結和散熱性差的特點,因此在鏜削中選用抗粘結和散熱性好的切削液相當重要,如選用含氯較高的切削液,以及具有良好冷卻、清洗、防鏽和潤滑作用的不含礦物油、不含亞酸鹽的水溶液,如H1L-2合成切削液.
